On March 24, 2014, Dr. Patrick Marcus received the Catapult Award for Ecosystem Impact from Tech Launch Arizona (TLA) for helping bring scientific discoveries to the Tucson community.
Marcus, President of Marcus Engineering, LLC, is involved in many forms of community outreach. From promoting STEM education in middle to helping organize Tucson’s first-ever Maketopolis, he is dedicated to helping Tucson’s entrepreneurial spirit flourish.
TLA was created to turn UA discoveries into intellectual property, inventions, and technology, ultimately moving them from design to market. Founded in 2011, TLA aims to be nationally recognized for integrating UA-created knowledge into tangible economic and social benefit by 2020.
